A Step Above Learning Society – Located in  Royal Oaks provides high-quality Out of School Care (OSC) for children in Kindergarten through Grade 6.

 

Our OSC program operates out of one large, welcoming classroom that is intentionally set up with a variety of learning and play centers. These centers support school-aged development and include areas for STEAM activities, creative arts, construction/building, dramatic play, literacy, quiet spaces, and cooperative games. Children have the freedom to explore, create, and direct their own play within a safe and engaging environment.

 

The program is supported by three dedicated main educators, each of whom brings their own strengths, training, and passion to the classroom. Together, they create a warm, structured, and responsive program that meets the needs of school-aged children before school, after school, and during PD days or full-day care.

 

Our educators plan experiences that foster curiosity, teamwork, independence, and leadership. Activities are guided by children’s interests and are designed to promote problem-solving, creativity, and positive peer relationships.

 

The  OSC program focuses on helping each child develop:

• Self-regulation and responsibility

• Independence and leadership skills

• Strong social and emotional connections

• A sense of belonging and community
